Serving Utensils


Descriptions and Uses

  1. Board: A plank, a table.
  2. Jug: "A large drinking vessel with a swelling belly." (Johnson)
  3. Maeser: Also called maser, mazer, mazur, maselin. A wooden drinking bowl, usually of maple.
  4. Mug: A cup to drink from.
  5. Noggin: A small mug.
  6. Platter: Any large plate or tray or common dish, of wood, pewter, or earthenware.
  7. Porringer: "A vessel in which broth is eaten; a small pan or basin." (Johnson)
  8. Forks, Knives, Spoons: Utensils used to eat the food served.
